THE LATE BRIAN PETER WILSON R.I.P.
For over sixty years a faithful worshipper at Leeds Parish Church, Brian Wilson served for a long period as Principal Cantoris Tenor in the Church's famous Choir and worked indefatigably in that capacity and as Curator of the Organ from the mid 1950's onwards, intially with Wood, Wordsworth & Company, then with J W Walker and Sons, and latterly with Andrew Carter, Organ Builders. He contributed notably to the restorations of the Organ in the 60's, 70's and 90's., especially by his renowned skill as a pipe voicer; and his singing is to be heard on many of the best-selling LP recordings made by the Choir in the 70's and 80's. Brian died peacefully in St Gemma's Hospice in the early dawn hours on Wednesday 11th August. His Funeral Service on Wednesday 18th August at 11.00am took place at Leeds Parish Church which he had served with such devotion and distinction. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
