HMS ARK ROYAL CHAIRS

At our service of Choral Matins on Sunday 13th February, two Chapel Chairs from HMS Ark Royal were deposited at Leeds Parish Church on long-term loan, in the presence of the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Leeds, and Mr. Michael Fox DL representing the West Yorkshire Lord Lieutenancy . The formal handover was conducted by the ship's senior officer Commander Rob Bellfield; and the ship's chaplain the Reverend Martin Evans led prayers in the course of the service. Sea Cadets from T.S. Ark Royal here in Leeds attended the service as well as Veterans from the Leeds Royal Naval Association and the Normandy Veterans Association.
