The Corn Exchange
For those of you who like
exclusive shopping with a difference this is a must visit. Architecturally
gorgeous, the place is jam packed full of exciting shops and there’s even a
café in the basement. Look out for the strange objects hanging from the
ceiling!
Leeds City Markets
A large number of traders
occupy the
recently renovated Kirkgate market, housed in
impressive Edward buildings with their ornamental dragons. Almost every type
of foodstuff – from the mundane to the exotic – is available in the largest
undercovermarket in the country. The huge open-air market area is
equally famous.
The Royal
Armouries is a very different kind of museum. 3,000 years of history is
brought to life before your eyes in five stunning galleries themed on
War, Tournament, Self-Defence, Hunting and the arms and armour of the
Orient. Over 8,000 awe-inspiring
exhibits include Henry VIII’s magnificent tournament armour and the
breathtaking 16th century Indian elephant armour.
